BREAK THESE BAD HABITS AND KEEP YOUR SKIN YOUNG
You can be a beauty at any age by eliminating a few bad habits. Few people realize that skincare is about consistency and cumulative results. The more you skip on on a routine that is giving you positive results the more it seems that a skincare routine is not working.
This is the same as skipping the gym or cheating on your diet, the results will be slow at best. The flip side is that it takes a few minutes in the morning and at night to prevent years worth of wrinkles, brown spots and more.
Here are a few reoccurring mistakes people make and that could be costing them a youthful complexion.
Banish Skin Excuses And Get The Skin You Always Wanted
Its the end of the day and the last thing you want to is wash your face. Skipping this step seems insignificant but too many lapses and your skin can suffer from clogged pores, acne, enlarged pores and lose its youthful glow.
All it takes is 2 minutes to cleanse your face at night and help ensure a fresh face beauty for years to come.
I’m out of moisturizer, so I’ll just use my body lotion. This is more harmful than it first appears. Body lotions are designed with other ingredients which could irritate your more delicate facial skin. Also, body lotions are usually heavier and can clog your pores making you breakout.
Always use a moisturizer that was made for your face and I would also avoid using someone else moisturizer specially if it was recommended to them by a dermatologist or esthetician for the simple reason that it was intended for their skin type which might not be yours.
Exfoliating makes my face red and irritated. Getting rid of dead cells helps soften wrinkles and brightens the skin but aggressive scrubs can lead to redness and irritation.
Get a facial exfoliator that is sufficiently gentle for your skin type and avoid using scrubs with uneven textures like walnut shells.
You might opt for a natural peel like a fruit enzyme to do the trick and never more than twice a week, less if you are prone to irritation.
Taking care of my skin cost too much money. Anytime I hear this I know that person has never gotten the results they wanted otherwise they would be happy to spend any amount of money.
This can be as a result of NOT sticking to a skincare routine long enough to see results. Most active ingredients DO work on everyone- just some faster than others.
If you trust your skincare consultant or dermatologist, I suggest you try the skincare routine for a minimum of six to eight weeks. You should see some improvements otherwise ask for a change in routine or skincare products.
Exercising and eating healthy and nutritious foods can dramatically change the look and feel of your skin as more of the nutrients and oxygen your skin needs are being feed to it.
However, exercising with your makeup on can clog your pores causing breakouts and enlarged pores. Remember your body is detoxing via sweating and you are wiping sweat off your face but at the same time you are spreading bacteria and other impurities all over your face.
Before hitting the gym wash your face.
Being familiar with your skin and doing what’s best for it will save you from last minute skin emergencies. And the BIG bonus is, when you look good, you’ll feel good.
