Having a healthy complexion isn’t just about what you put on your skin — it’s about what you eat and drink as well. Vitamins and antioxidants from certain foods, like kale, avocado, and beets, help your body keep your skin hydrated and healthy from the inside out.

Joanna Vargas’s Green Juice

1 apple (any variety)
4 celery stalks
1 bunch parsley
2 handfuls spinach
1/2 handful kale
Lemon and ginger to taste
Combine all ingredients in a juicer (or a powerful blender) and enjoy!

1/2 avocado (optional, to make smoothie thicker and more filling)
1 packet frozen acai berries
2 cups unsweetened almond milk
Stevia to taste
Using a powerful blender, blend the acai and almond milk at a low speed until you’ve broken down the acai then switch to a higher speed. Once the drink is smooth, sprinkle in the Stevia. Add half an avocado if you want a denser snack or dessert. Enjoy!

1/2 lemon, juiced
2 cups baby carrots (approximately 20)
2 1/2 small beets, boiled, roasted, or canned
1 small Gala apple, cored, peel on
1 strip of ginger (1/4 inch by 2 inches long)
Cut all ingredients small enough so they fit in your juicer. Then turn on the juicer and add ingredients. For extra fiber, mix in some of the discarded pulp.

1 tablespoon chia seeds
1/4 cup fresh mint
1 small box coconut water (11 ounces)
1 cup shredded lacinato kale (also known as dinosaur kale and Tuscan kale)
1 serving nondairy protein powder (I recommend Be Well Sustain)
1 lime, juiced
4 ice cubes
Place ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
Dr. Jessica Wu’s Skin-Saving Bloody Mary Mix

2 celery stalks, chopped, plus additional whole stalks for garnish
2 tablespoons freshly grated horseradish
2 28-ounce cans whole peeled tomatoes, no sugar added
1/4 cup onion, chopped
4 lemons, juiced
3–4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce or 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
Salt and black pepper to taste
Sauté the celery and onion in extra-virgin olive oil in a saucepan or Dutch oven. Add the tomatoes and their liquid and simmer over medium heat for 30 to 40 minutes, until thickened. Let cool until lukewarm. Stir in horseradish, lemon juice, mustard, and Worcestershire or Tabasco sauce.
Pour the mixture into a blender (like a Vitamix) and puree until smooth. Let cool, then season to taste with salt and pepper.
Strain through a sieve into a pitcher and refrigerate until ready to serve. Mix with vodka for Bloody Marys, if desired. Or pour the mix into popsicle molds for Bloody Mary popsicles to serve at your next outdoor gathering.
Sonia Kashuk’s Matcha Green Tea and Almond Milk Latte

1 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
1/4 cup boiling water
1 packet Truvia
Add matcha powder to a cup and pour in boiling water, stirring until the powder dissolves completely. On the stove, heat the almond milk over medium-high heat until it begins to boil, stirring slowly with a whisk. Pour hot almond milk into the water-matcha mix and add Truvia to taste.
