Is Toner Really Necessary?
November 2nd, 2010
Ah, the age-old debate in skin care—is toner really necessary? Some say yes, some say no, all seem to have a very strong opinion about it.
If you ask me, it’s most certainly a very important part of the skincare regimen. Toner helps to strip the skin of harmful, pore-clogging bacteria while removing makeup and traces of cleanser. In short? It’s one more step against unsightly whiteheads and blackheads.
Toner is especially helpful for oily or acne-prone skin, as a cleanser doesn’t necessarily get all the gunk off your face in one go. People with normal skin might actually find that toner dries their skin out. If that’s the case, try using toner only a few times a week.
In short? The toner debate may never be cleared up for good—but in my opinion, it’s worth giving it a shot if it means clearing up your skin!
