Hello to all!
Glamour.com’s Girls in the Beauty Department came by Joanna Vargas Skin Care to experience a Tone Up Body Treatment done on the calves for those who struggle to squeeze into leather knee-high boots every winter.
Fiorella says: “I tried those boots on the next morning and they zipped right up. So now they are actually made for walking, rather than just gathering dust in my closet… ” Read the whole story below and use the link above to visit their site.
“There are certain things that seem to happen like clockwork every winter—my skin turns into the Sahara, I sleep way more than I do in the warmer months, and I always struggle to squeeze into my favorite pair of vintage knee-high boots…
Whether it’s because of the shrinking leather or my expanding legs, every year I end up playing tug of war with the zipper.
So this season I decided I would, ahem, get a leg up and turn my calves over to an expert for help. I went to see New York-based skincare expert Joanna Vargas, who offers a treatment called Calfisthenics, which uses microcurrent technology to de-bloat your legs. Lying down on her treatment table, with cords dangling from the dozen or so nodes attached to my calves I probably looked like an extra in Blade Runner. And the constant waves of microcurrent pulses, which lymphatically drain, tone muscles, and tighten skin, may occasionally feel jarring to some people, but I actually kinda enjoyed them. After all, I strongly believe that if it don’t hurt a little, then it ain’t working. And I am happy to report that it did indeed work—after following Joanna’s advice to drink plenty of water to encourage continued circulation, I tried those boots on the next morning and they zipped right up. So now they are actually made for walking, rather than just gathering dust in my closet…
