Lighten Your Brown Spots

July 25th, 2010

If you have neglected sunscreen in the past, chances are you have a few brown spots on your face and possibly neck and hands.

These sunspots, as they are also known, are the result of sun damage to your skin. Erasing from your face, neck and hands can be a challenging task but it can be done.

Treatments for brown spots can range from laser to chemical peels as the fastest but also the most prone to side effects.

At home treatments or prevention methods are easy and safe. Below I give my recommendations on how you can get rid of these brown spots.

How to Treat Brown Spots

The best way to get rid of brown spots on your face and to prevent further damage is to immediately start using sunscreen. Daily use of sunscreen will help to resolve the sunspot more quickly.

Another easy step and something that you can do immediately is to exfoliate once or twice a week. This will speed of the skin’s cell reproduction and healing mechanism thus lightening the brown spot.

And although this last step is not a topical solution for the brown spot on your face, it is easy and it works well, repairing the damage skin.

Eat & drink lots of foods that have known antioxidants as these will not only prevent further skin damage but also reverse any sun damage done.

All of my facials and LED light therapy treatments contain more than one element to help erase or diminish sunspots.

But at home care is essential to maintain your skin as young and beautiful as you can.
