Moving On Up

January 17th, 2011

Although we never made an official announcement the word has gotten out. The Joanna Vargas Skin Care Sanctuary salon has moved to more spacious surroundings. I’m very proud to continue to grow, despite the economy, and all I can say is that my success and growth depends on the results you get. Even after one visit you can expect an improvement of your skin. And you will leave seeing, clean, clear and glowing skin.

I look forward to welcoming you all. Please read what has to say about me and my Midtown skincare salon.

The draw at Joanna Vargas’ shoebox-size salon on the 7th floor of 501 Fifth Avenue was her Triple Crown facial, not the atmosphere. But this week the skincare guru moved on up to much more spacious digs on the building’s 20th floor. The new salon boasts light-filled treatment rooms and a large reception area, which will feature complimentary antioxidant-packed juices and an extensive product wall showcasing hard-to-find organic skincare lines like Eminence, ILA and Phyts. The design, which Vargas dubs “art deco with a dash of 1940s Hollywood regency,” includes a treasure trove of flea market finds like gilded mirrors, sparkling chandeliers, and an oversize vanity with a three-way mirror. But if the decor has received an upgrade, the treatment menu has remained much the same—why mess with perfection? There are some new developments on the horizon, though. We hear that Vargas is expanding her LED light therapy prowess, and will also introduce a new massage therapist specializing in lymphatic drainage (she claims the aesthetician can make you look and feel ten pounds lighter in a single session). Perhaps most exciting is the imminent launch of Vargas’ own natural-minded skincare line. Add to that extended hours until 8pm five days a week, and a 2011 visit would make the perfect addition to your new year, new you resolution list.
