August 15th, 2015

With the plethora of choice available it can be challenging to find the most nourishing face care ingredients for radiant skin. The only way to decide on what’s best for one’s skin is to know what the best skin care lines are putting into their products. We carefully read the ingredients on what we put into our bodies and the same diligence should be applied to what we put on them. Knowing about what your skin needs helps in the quest to find a reliable favorite moisturizer, night cream or serum.

A Vitamin C Face Wash that includes botanical ingredients such as larch tree extract (loaded with galactoarabinan), acai and goji berry recharge the dermis with many vitamins, minerals and antioxidants not found in average products.  The visible benefits such a high quality cleanser make it a clear choice for healthy skin:

•Thoroughly yet gently cleansed pores

•Enhanced natural glow

•Refreshed appearance

•Dramatic clarity

Look for vitamins relatively high in the content list. Substances are usually listed in the order of their amount or concentration in the product. For example, if you’re looking for the optimal protection from sun damage, vitamins A, C and E should be near the top of the ingredient list of your favorite sunscreen or day cream.

Whether we eat them or wear them, vitamins work best in combinations. So look for Vitamin C and E. The two working in tandem, are  mighty at soothing, healing and improving the appearance of sun damaged areas. High concentrations of this nutrient in the form of L-ascorbic acid  are vital in any serum, moisturizer or day cream that is a part of your morning routine. Moisturizers abundant in Vitamin C content should be used under sunscreens to provide extra protection from free radicals.

The best sunscreens and after-sun products should contain vitamin E for moisture. Like C, vitamin E is a potent neutralizer of harmful free radicals. It boosts the skin’s ability to protect itself from UV damage and assists the cells in retaining naturally -occurring moisturizers. There will be at least 1% of vitamin E in the best products so it may be near the middle of the ingredients. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory which works quickly to reverse over-exposure to the sun.

Vitamin A has been proven to be the best age-reverser. It is available in prescription form in which the retinoids have been known to produce quick and effective results. Unfortunately this can lead overuse can lead to irritation, so it is best to look for natural varieties in a concentrated serum where a pea-sized application at night will do the trick.  A good night cream should have vitamin A as a top ingredient as it can be neutralized by sun exposure and night time is the right time to use it. For most normal skin types, it is recommended to use the variety your aesthetician suggests as it will be included in a customized regime for your specific needs that will deliver undeniable radiance.
